Editorial Policy
How VPNUS decides what to publish, how offers are classified, and the lines we never cross.
Independence
Rankings, scores and offer classifications are set by editorial rules, never by commercial relationships. An advertiser cannot buy a better score, a 'free' label, or a place in the free-VPN directory.
Offer classification
We maintain four strict offer types: Free Forever, True Free Trial, Money-Back Guarantee, and Paid Only. A money-back guarantee is never presented as a free trial, because paying upfront and requesting a refund is not the same as trying before you pay.
Claims discipline
We never claim a provider was personally tested unless real test data exists in our system. We never guarantee access to any third-party service, since providers and services change constantly. We never recommend unknown free VPNs without manual verification of the operating company.
Verification
Every important fact carries a source URL, a checked date, and a verification status: Verified, Needs Review, Changed, Expired, or Unconfirmed. Data seeded at launch is labeled 'Sample data — pending verification' until an editor confirms it against official sources.
