Testing Methodology

What VPNUS scores mean and when hands-on test data backs them.

Score dimensions

Providers are scored 0–10 on privacy, speed, value, ease of use and support, combined into an overall score. Scores derive from published provider facts (jurisdiction, audits, protocols, pricing) plus hands-on results where they exist.

When we say 'tested'

A review only claims hands-on testing when real test data is stored for that provider. Profiles without test data say so explicitly at the top of the review. Review structured data (schema.org Review) is emitted only for reviews backed by real tests.

Speed context

VPN speed depends on your location, ISP, server load and protocol. Any speed figures are snapshots, not guarantees.

Free plan verification

Free-tier limits (data, server countries, device counts) are re-checked against official documentation before being marked Verified, because providers change free tiers more often than paid ones.
